When buying goods in the European Union, consumers have a legal guarantee of conformity for at least two years. It applies against the seller, is free of charge and does not need to be agreed separately. The notice below is the official version issued by the European Commission.

Producer guarantees of durability
Separately from this, producers may voluntarily offer a guarantee of durability. Where it is free of charge, covers the entire good and lasts longer than two years, the item carries the EU-wide GARAN label. You will find it right next to the item concerned.
