The IPC gear display permanently shows the gear your automatic transmission has actually engaged – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 – even with the selector lever simply in D. From the factory your Ford only shows the PRNDS positions; the actual gear number is visible in manual shift mode only.
